DIY Affirmations [Step-by-Step Guide]

You have the power to be who you want to be and to make your aspirations a reality. Infuse and bolster your self-identity and goals through daily affirmations – simple, confident statements of belief in yourself and your ability to make it happen.

While I have plenty of affirmations here, Mavens 101, I want to give you the tools to create your own affirmations. I mean, after all, you know better than anyone where you need a little boost and reminding. So here are 3 simple steps to creating your affirmations:

Start your affirmations with “I.” When you start affirmations with first person pronouns your affirmations become your personal statement. The more you affirm yourself, the more you become what you aspire to be.

Be Positive: Affirmations should be aspirational and inspirational. You are speaking your truth and stating confidence in your abilities to manifest.

Stay Present. Speak about yourself in the present. The power of affirmations allows you to envision yourself in your desired mind frame, feeling, or achievement.

Be Specific. I can write the general stuff. The point of creating your own affirmations is to specify your needs and desires. So ask yourself what words will help, heal, and boost you. 

Repeat as needed. Make saying affirmations a part of your healthy routine.  By repeating your affirmations you are creating healthy self-esteem and through that healthy self-esteem you are unstoppable.  

Manifest your aspirations with your words. By starting with “I,” Keeping it positive, staying present, and being specific, you’re more likely to engage in behaviors that will make your aspiration a reality.
