Remember the Saturday Night Live skits in which Stuart Smily would look at himself in the mirror and repeat, “I am good enough, smart enough, and doggone it people like me?” As a child, I begin to imitate this practice. I subconsciously and consciously became my own “hype man” of sorts, thanks to Al Franken.
Affirmations already proved valuable in my life. I understood the power of my words and my thoughts. It was clear that what I expressed internally and externally affected both me and the world around me.
